Delhi-based NRIs to Get Domicile & Marriage Cert. at Home

The AAP-led Delhi government has kept its promise of delivering 40 government services at home for delhiites. Hence, the individuals who are likely to emigrate on work or study visa, have started receiving NRI solutions of getting domicile and marriage certificates to their home.

The community of would-be NRIs is walking in the air after hearing this breaking news. Now, it would be a walkover to apply and receive the valuable certificates. The intended applicants can go through the checklist of the documents. They can give a ring to the Mobile Sahayaks (Documents Shipping Officer). In response, the documents that are applied for would be couriered at the applicant’s home.

It is an initiative of the Delhi government to fight corruption that has infected various public-dealing offices. It was the first day, i.e. 10th September 2018, of this service.

Highlights of 1st Day of Disseminating Public Services:
The reputed newspaper (ToI) highlighted these points about the below mentioned public services.
• Nearly 21,000 calls rang
• 2, 728 calls connected
• Answered 1, 286 calls
• 369 appointments got fixed
• 7 Documents collected
• 1076 call centers are set up to disseminate the procedure to get the intended services
• Online payment of INR 50 as a service charge
• 200 Mobile Sahayaks are deployed
• 40 services are currently available
• 60 services are in the pipeline
• Mobile Sahayaks would visit your home 365 days between 8 in the morning and 10 in the evening
• Dial-up services address 58 locations

The Delhiites might suspect the authenticity of the Mobile Sahayaks. While keeping this fact into account, the appointed executives who disseminate are appointed after police verification. They won’t have any information other than your postal address till they reach your residence. They would be under the policing from the back-end control room.

Vitality of Domicile and Marriage Certificates for Would-be NRIs:

1. Domicile Certificate:
The domicile certificate is a legal evidence of an individual’s belonging with a particular state. The Delhi-based students require it for:
• Shifting temporarily to the abroad on work-visa.
• Getting student visa to study in a desirable country or state.
• Getting loan
• Claiming various benefits of public services

However, the person should have ration card/voter ID card, birth certificate and marriage certificate (if any) to apply for this document. The coolest thing is that all these supporting documents are a composition of the state government’s public services.

2. Marriage Certificate:
It’s a licit proof of an individual’s marital status. Various European and Asian countries allow matrimonies with their citizens if they have a legal evidence (i.e. Single Status Certificate/Bachelorhood Certificate) of their bachelorhood.  And, the marriage certificate helps the foreign immigration authority deem who is married or vice-versa.

Checklist of Government Services:
• Domicile certificate
• Marriage certificate
• Caste certificate
• Income certificate
• Learning and permanent driving licence
• Transfer of ownership of vehicle
• Change in address on vehicle RC
• New sewer
• Water connections
• New ration card
• Pension for handicaps

All the aforementioned public services are introduced to uproot the evil impact of corruption. The would-be NRIs and others will not only get rid of hassles, but they also get off touts. Also, the turnaround time from application to delivery will be less than before.

Gopal Mohan, the brain behind this scheme and the chief advisor of the CM, iterated that each application is under the surveillance of the government officials. They’re closely monitored. The ministers will tap on the applications received and entertained. Besides, the applicants would frequently receive the progression messages of their application.

This project was announced in November 2017. Since its approval was pending from the lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, it took time to come into the effect.
