How to Apply for New OCI Card Online from Govt. Website?

Oversea Citizen of India (OCI) is essential for hassle free visit, stay and work for emigrants. The aspiring emigrants can get it through two ways. First is by filling form on the official government website. The second method is recommended for hiring an outsourcer for accomplishing form filling and submitting it.
The applicant should browse the site https://passport.gov.in/oci  for applying OCI card online. Primarily, he/she has to get himself/herself registered. For it, the registration gateway will be through the first window of the government site. Enter the details of the family only if the applicant wants the same card for his spouse and 1 or 2 minor children. In case the children are major and more than two, each applicant has to fill separate form. Access the part ‘A’ of the form. Fill the mandatory fields. Get its online registration number. Take its print out and submit it online. Now, complete Part ‘B’ of the same form. Provide authentic details. And then, enclose it with the supporting documents, like citizenship certificate, relationship proof with the parents/grandparents, domicile certificate, renouncing foreign citizenship documents and photographs as per instructions.

The applicant has to submit this form physically. Or, he/she can mail or courier to the consulate office. However, it’s a lengthy procedure but after accomplishing all formalities, the OCI card will be delivered to the applicant after pan verification.
